This course is required for medical professionals who want to perform phlebotomy outside their scope of duty. The state of California requires that you obtain 20 hours of basic training as well as 20 hours of advanced training.

Who should attend:

• Phlebotomists with at least 40 hours and less than 1040 hours experience within the last 5 years

What you'll learn:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Blood testing procedures
• Lab safety and infection control

Required to register:

• California statement of Phlebotomy Puncture Performance Sheet completed and signed by your manager

Note: Criminal record clearance or background check may be required for licensing as a Phlebotomist.
